Recycle Bin

is there a way to remove the recycle bin from the desktop?? its makin my desktop look sloppy it needs to be GONE

im pretty sure recycle bin is the only one you cannot remove, as it has no other place to go :\

You can actually hide the recycle bin, but it'll take a trip to the registry to do it. Be sure to backup, and know what you're doing. Open regedit

*For some strange reason VB is being Gay and is putting a space between \CurrentVersion\...there is no space, it should look like what I have typed here.

none of my registry entry names started w/those numbers and the data field were alrdy at 00000001, so ill try to go to that website and dl that patch and try it...

Do a search of your registry for "Recycle Bin", and delete the folder it finds under "Namespace"

there is two files under names...one is (default) and the other is dispfilename?? delete both?? the main string is HKEY Current User/Appevents/eventlabels/emptyrecyblebin

I guess you are trying to remove the Recycle Bin icon from your desktop rather than get rid of the Recycle Bin folder altogether.

As PV5150 said, go to Annoyances.org and download TweakUI. You can then do this:

Just uncheck Recycle Bin.
