May i know, currently on the market what kind of graphics card would handle applications like Adobe suite software, Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD 2009, Visual Studio.Net with cinch? I am piecing together a ASUS P5Q PREMIUM, with A QUAD CORE Q6600, ram - pending and an ANTEC TRUPOWER 650W power supply. Unfortunately i am wavering on a good graphics card to allow me to maximise it's full potential to render intense 3D applications as well as play some new computer games.

The most basic of cards will handle office applications with ease. Autocad etc may be a little more demanding but ive seen it run on very little quite effectively.

Then you add in 'as well as play some new computer games.' and the story changes.

What's your budget?

Those nVidia QuadFX cards are meant to be designed for CAD work. But they`re not `too` hot at gaming. They`ll play em tho.

Cost a fortune mind.

AutoCAD 2009

I use Autocad 2008 on my x1900xt.

I have an old system at the office with a 6600gt which runs it fine aswell.

Altho I guess it depends on what you're doing with it :)

Budget >$200

My budget is under $200 slightly more would also do fine, as it's been a whopping 5 years since my last upgrade, i would like my Graphics card to support both VGA and DVI-I interfaces for backward compatibility. A well-balanced card for both gaming and intense 3D rendering applications based card would suit me fine. Please quote me if i am a bit too demanding, as after a hiatus graphics card which could rival with professional graphics card have surfaced throughout the market thus a plethora of choices to choose from.
