My build and future upgrades.

Intel 3770k

Unsure on the MOBO

Corsair force 3 gts X2

Mushkin Redline 2133 8gb

NZXT switch 810

Noctua D14

ATI 7970 or Nvidia 670

Future Upgrades

A second GPU to run either SLI or Xfire. (This may not happen due to just not needing it)

Water cooling. Will run a pump and a max of 10 fans.

With all of this I am unsure as to what PSU wattage to go with. I will be getting at least a silver rated but will more than likely wind up with a gold or platinum. I was going to get the Seasonic 1000watt platinum but will and 850 be alright or no? I want to make sure the PSU will not be that stressed but I do not want to over due it.

Any thoughts will be great. Thanks!

If you plan to run two 7970 a 850w is more then enough. Theres no 670's out yet so we dont know anything about the power consumption

Yeh I agree with the above. Get a good 850w power supply and you should be good for cfx of sli

Awesome that will save me some money. What if I throw my watercooling loop on this rig as well will there be any concern that you all would have? Also since I will be getting the 3770k I will be ocing the cpu and gpu's.

corsair ax 850 if you plan a sli/cross-fire future.

with a single loop water cooler you should be just fine.

only when you plan to double gpu and add pump(s) then

consideration to a PSU upgrade.

with electronics going to smaller packages, smaller circuitry, yeah eventually a 30-watt

light bulb will burn more electricity that a mega-gigawatt PC with 1Gbit video output 9-way

processing in the size of a cigarette pack. but it is a start in down-sizing watt usage.

the same for the newer CPU's in usage, down.
