Recommend me a pair of fans.

Hi there!

I'm usually not a fan of threads like this but I just found myself without a clue what to do.

I'm searching for a new set of 120mm fans to replace my Noctua Redux S12 700rpm as they just simply don't cut it with their 0.5 H20 at full speed.

What they're used for is my GPU cooler, the Rajintek Morpheus so static pressure is needed.

When you recommend me a fan please try and say why it's good and not just be like "dat is da gr8est". Same goes stuff you know about fans recommended by others. The thing I'd most likely to hear would be a recommendation based on experience, long term if that's not asking too much for.

Used on a cooler, no leds, monochrome, preferably no PWM.

Noiseblocker NB-eLoop B12-2 gives the best balance between noise and cooling performance, spins at 1300rpm, makes 16dB sound, and has static pressure of 1.042mmhg.

I would just get some faster F12 Redux's, aesthetically they worked really well. They are great fans, limiting yourself to 700RPM was just a bit too ambitious for a GPU.

Discussing negligible differences in blade efficiency seems a bit pointless to me, all decent fans will have similar performance you just need the right size and RPM for the job.

There certainly isn't anything special about Gentle Typhoons IMO, they were just a quality fan in the times when everyone else was putting out cheap tacky junk but against the premium competition today they are pretty normal. Nothing wrong with Corsair SP's either.

I voted he'd get some of the stock SP120s (that come with Corsair AIOs and such) and someone had a few spares so it seems it's sorted anyway. Cheap alternative and it'll go great with the colour scheme. Besides, they are PWM fans which is a nice bonus.

thanks for all the input guys, but as rick said I will get some grey Sp120's. Once my build commences I will probably get a set of 6 matching fans but that rather far in the future.

GTs are far away above and beyond Corsair SP fans. Those fans are horrid. The "Quiet Edition" at 7v is just as loud as my GTs at 12v and the GTs push far more air and have higher static pressure. Even the Corsair stock L fans are worse than the GTs at full blast. Add to that the GTs being about the same price, you get a much much higher quality product that you can actually feel in the weight and material. Corsair fans only sell because of the brand name. GTs still sell because they have a reputation just like Noctua does, otherwise they wouldn't still be selling.
