reason for deathmatch (not really proper dm tho) on cs:s?

The good thing about DM + Dust2 is that there are plenty of places to go with an ordinary gun where you have a massive advantage over awpers. Also you are supplied with smokes and flashes so unless ur running around like a headless chicken, there's no reason why you should be awped repeatedly.

Unfortunately our D2 server has been doing crap recently and makign it a DM server has instantly solved that. The rotation server now has dust2 so there's still somewhere to play an 'ordinary' game if you like :)

CSS DM is one of my favorite gametypes. I like the fast-paced gameplay on the CSS platform, it's very very fun to rack up some serious kills.

For aim practice I think gungame is quite good as you actually get to use every gun.

I think if cs:s DM was proper DM with pickups etc it 'might' be ok, altho it's not really fast paced enough to be fun aswell as the weapons being too different to have a balanced game.

It just doesn't work, especially in comparison to other games.

I would expect DM to:

1. Not be a teamgame (otherwise it's TDM)

2. Have pickups (including ammo and more importantly health/armour)

3. Be pretty balanced

All 3 of those are not in cs:s DM :(

I still don't understand why it's so appealing.

But I'm not going to let a difference of opinion influence namecalling/accusations like someone already has done to me many a time.

/just got back from working new years day, short temperd..

Sounds like you just need more practice at it too me.

And if its that bad, don't play and stop winging.

I only stumbled on it by accident as I thought I was connecting to the dust2 server.

But I don't play it anyway, was just wondering why everyone else seemed to like it.

Practice makes perfect on DM tbh. When I first tried it the first time I was like wtf I keep dieing and cant get any friggin kills. After I spent an hour or so playing it I caught on to the "strategy" of DM in CSS and it became much easier to get multiple kills before getting rolled by someone. Play it enough and you might grow to like it, I know I did.

I havent played CSS in like 2 months, I don't even have it installed.

But imo, the DM is excellent for learning to use a weapon, and all this talk about using awps and camping, if u cant take an awper out u hant got much chance in matches, and like llwyd sed, if ur not careful about campers they will get u, hense teaching urself to look everywhere and be more aware

Well said mate! Yeah DM gets ur aim trained up, because you don't waste any time being dead. This is probably why a lot of low/medium skilled players fill up DM servers - they spend all their time playing and getting better rather than spectating others.

We know that DM is not for training your teamwork, only matches get you better at that - but once thats drilled into you, you don't lose that ability fast and doesn't need a tune up. DM ups ur induvidual ability to take out groups of people fast.

Enough of my SA on DM tbh....
