Rasa 1155 backplate fitting problem

I encountered a problem when trying to install the backplate of my Rasa kit (for 1155 socket) onto my motherboard (Asus Maximus IV GENE-Z/GEN3). It wasn't able to fit into it's correct position because there were 2 small pins stopping it from doing so. I am pretty sure I put it where it was intended to be so can any1 help me? thx

well it really only goes on one way are you sure you have it oriented correctly with any backing stuff. I'm gonna check more while you asnwer

Grab some sanding paper and wrap it on a flat piece of something (wood, plastic, metal....) and sand it down ever so slightly

I built a PC a few days back using one of these that came in a kit and it fitted fine on a gigabyte 1155 board. Unless I missed something

no pins blocking it? (r the pins on my motherboard on urs too? Or aren't they there?)

Pc is gone now so can't really check. I did not notice any pins or anything getting in the way and I'm sure I would have noticed. The board was a Z68XP-UD3P if it helps

Here is a better view I hope + red circles around the prblems.. Hope it'll help!

Thx to all for answering

@Madness I don't realy wanna start doing that since 1: if it's a motherbpard fail I may get guaranty problems. 2: If it's not the mothertboard I may risk ruining the motherboard..

yeah Martins Liquid Labs noted that ur mobo needs modification for it to work. you'll have to do something to those pins sticking up without damaging it you might be able to nip them off above the solder and do a little filing on them. Or contact Asus and see what they suggest if your not confident doing it.

its just bad quality control imho

omg thanks x1000 for helping! Been using hours to figure it out and the u solve it, thanks!

I prefer not touching the motherboard too much so can't I mod the backplate instead?

well that would probably be more ideal but I wouldnt basically the issue is this those pins get stuck thru holes in the mobo then a machine comes along and solders them. Whats happened here is the final step of making it imho safe (I'm sure there sharp and pointy ) lol by flattening down or cutting the excess pin off. You could easily snip them then lightly sand them down to clear. Just be cautious and dont let the sand paper hit the traces on the board.

if those stick down to far say like the length of the stand offs then it can short out the mobo as well.

you can look at my system in my sig. and i just wanted to let you know i had the SAME pin problems, its probably an asus gene/maximus problem, BUT if you look through my system's build (you can click it in my sig) then you'll see that you can just mount the backplate like normal, the only thing is that it might be a little difficult to get the screws to catch at first, due to the fact that the back plate is a little further.

been with the loop for over 2 months and my rig is on 24/7 and there hasn't been any problems.

hope it helps if you are not looking to mod those delicate little pins
