To be real hard and honest... you dont need to overclock this rig at all. Maybe 6 or so months down the line when you get used to the speed you might want to consider adjusting your clocks a little (or use a netbook for an hour and you will soon realise how fast your PC still is)

Please tell me something though.

What made you decide on this configuration?? Surely you must have some sort of idea what you are doing. Having a rig like that would give me a hard on, and I would know exactly what to do with that

man I almost fell out of my chair laughing but yeah its a nice rig no doubt and Crits suggestion is'nt a bad one at that get used to it as ur just getting into comps get a feel for the rig and then tweak da chit outta it and see what she'll do

with a h70 i cant see you getting much higher than 4ghz out of it dude but as said you need to read and learn what your doing then we can help you later when you get stuck.

I think you dont have an idea what you are talking about ... H70 can cool it man .. i tried to do something i raied the multiplier to 33x and i tested it with intel burn test for 30 minutes and it was fine it didnt go more that 60 digrees .... i wanted to know the best bios settings guys.

The multiplier does not increase your temps the voltage does what Marsey meant was if you push the voltage higher to get more than 4ghz that the H70 won't cope, and it won't. H70 = Fail.

Thnx for the reply . For choosing these specs i just wanted to have the best specs in the market. and for that i want to know till what level i can push this BABY.... and Tom's video are awesome made me want to get scores in the benchmarking softwares.

i just wanted the best bios setting for a daily use purpose for the time being. thx guys

this is what happens when you give noobs 3k to spend on hardware

(yes that is a bit of jealousy)

if a can raise the voltage .3 and the multiplier to 28x .. what difference does it make ?? .... I am still pretending that my cooling is 4/10 because i am not going to the high level .. i want to use this PC for games and video editing. thats why i asked for the setting... cheers

Because you need a certain amount of volts to achieve 4+ ghz which will make the CPU to hot for the H70 to keep cool. If you are going for a 4ghz or below you will be OK.

People could give you settings all day long but unless you know what you are doing it's unless because every CPU is different and you need to know what you are doing so you can tweak it. That is why people are saying learn how to do it then if you get stuck they can help you achieve a better overclock.

nice suggestion buddy, btw can i ask you where did you get the driver for the sata3 raid 0 from???
ohmy.gif

thanks man but i think being noob is not an issue .. every one was a noob one day and i am still learning.. cheers

and BTW being jealous wont help you getting a 3k PC

ok but seriously the h70 is crap, get a d14 will help you get better clocks.

basically when you raise the clocks and not the volts = unstable

i would recommend starting of at 3.7 ghz running prime and seeing if it is stable, if it is then check the temps as well if its all good (after 1/2 hour of prime shouldnt be over 65ish especially with that cooler because it will continue to rise)

do not go over 1.375 Cpu voltage.

and btw admitting your a newb and then saying a respected forum member (marsey) doesnt know what he is talking about is a big no no

from my mobo's website normal controller raid drivers. its the devices that make it sata 3 not the raid drivers afaik all the sata ports on my mobo are sata 3

i tried to do raid 0 on my crucial c300 ssd but windows wont detect it .. all the controllers are available..

do you mean while trying to install windows??? lol you have to give it the raid drivers prior to it detecting the raid on install I coppied the files to a flash drive and load it before win7
