Kingston HyperX Blu 16GB Kit (2x8 GB Modules)

or

Corsair Vengeance Blue 16 GB (4x4 GB Modules)

I'm also thinking of getting the Kingston RAM fan in the future. Motherboard is Gigabyte Z77 UD5H.

i can easily get by on 8GB if i wasn't rendering and CAD/CAM. depending on PS files (under 500MB raw)
8gb is great. its the larger files that the RAM is really helpful. if you gotta go 16GB use the 8GB sticks.
overclocking (if you do so) with four sticks can be an issue.

when you say overclocking, do you mean overclock cpu?

yes, overclocking the CPU.
1.5v RAM doesnt damage ivey bridges...
multiple sticks tend to offer issues in overclocking situations.

ye that's why i said that they won't damage because they're 1.5v

ive used 1.75v on IB for overclocking and it was fine.. it is just knowing what you are doing
when you are trying to wring out the most.
so when asking about items, tell us what you are needing it for and whatsystem they are
going in (system specs) is very helpful.

4.0 is ok.. 4.5 would be better for the PS and 3D work. do you need the bluetooth and WiFi?
an easier motherboard would be the MSI GD65 or if just 4.0 the GD45, because of the VRM
control isnt that critical on a low overclock.

no SSD?

i'm trying to save money on the computer that's why i didn't get an ssd. is 128gB fine? because that's my max price range. is that other motherboard worth the 30usd that i'm saving if i buy it?
edit: i do need wifi - that's why i got the wifi version

scale back on the RAM and invest in the SSD for operating system install. and when funds
are available, upgrade the RAM to desired capacity..

so it's more important for a few seconds of boot time and load time with apps than twice as much ram? what solid state do you recommend that's preferably less than 120USD

in honesty.. the mobo with wifi and all that scrub will slow
your boot times.. id suggest the msi gd 45 or 55,i prefer
the GD65, but thats a decision youd have to make. USB wifi
8GB RAM and now youll have more money for better upgrades..

either the sammie or crucial.. price is everything for those two..

I'd also like to say that I made the mistake of buying a board with wifi. Wifi does such on desktops - and gaming was impossible for me on my wifi.
Get the GD55 or GD65 as airdeano suggested - and invest in some powerline adapters - or a very long ethernet cable

is there a better board than the g65 because it only has 2 usb 3.0 ports and it's still got the old mouse/keyboard input thing - isn't it too old? :/ maybe i'm being stupid...
