The time has come to take a look at the new Asterion case from Raijintek

Raijintek Asterion Plus Case Review

Hear hear. Nice review Gary.

I was bowled over by my Metis for the money it cost. I loved how everything was perfectly symmetrical too so you could orientate it however you wished (inverted, window right or left etc) it really was awesome. And I also loved how it pretty much stripped down into nothing too. No rivets in sight and every single last panel was separate.

The front panel on it is amazing too. 5mm alu IIRC. Sod to cut into though !

Really nice. I wonder if they'll be released in a range of colours like their smaller ones were? The black and the plain Aluminium would look nice but they did a really nice blue in the Metis.

this is probably the first thing Raijintek have releases that hasn't had the "meh" factor. most of their stuff has looked cheap, tacky or a rip off but this is quite a nice looking case.
When is Tom going to give you a GPU upgrade for your reviews? =00=

This looks crackin'. You could easily come up with a unique coolant path with some uncommon radiators and still have room with for fan controllers, HDD's, large reservoirs, etc.

Is there enough room for a 360mm x-flow rad at the top?

The tech spec in the review states:

Water Cooling
Front: Up to 360 or 280mm

Rear: 120 or 140mm

Roof: Up to 360 or 280mm

and these images suggest that is correct
However, it will ultimately come down to the design of your radiator and the size of the end tanks.

If the 360 above is *that* tight a fit, I doubt a crossflow is fitting in there. Those things have end tanks on both ends, and I haven't seen a crossflow yet that was the same length as a 360. They're always longer.

Yeah I understand what you're saying, that's why I said it would depend on their specific radiator.

For my purposes I'm assuming it's an RX360 in the picture.
The numbers I can find with a quick search online* are:
V1 - 410mm
V2 - 400mm
V3 - 398.5mm

XSPC EX360 Crossflow - 411.5mm
AlphaCool Nexxxos x-flow - 413mm
Black Ice Nemesis xflow - 412mm

In the shot with the radiator in situ, there does appear to be between 10-20mm (perspective is a little off) of further clearance at the rear of the case, whether that would be enough I don't know.
They'd certainly struggle to use a rear fan at all if the radiator itself would fit in the roof.

I'm not telling them it will fit, for obvious reasons, but I'm sure a little research themselves couldn't hurt.

*I'm not claiming accuracy with the numbers, they are just what I found from each initial search.

Agreed! One of the most space-efficient rads I've ever used are Darkside rads, sadly not made anymore. Even their crossflow rad is 406mm long, and I suspect that might be the smallest crossflow 360 out there. I only say that because when Daz started having those produced, the goal was a low-cost no-frills design, with no extra bulk. I can't see how you could make one smaller.

For reference, it's this one: https://www.dazmode.com/store/product/cross-flow-triple-lpx360-extra-slim-radiator/

I actually really like that radiator; very clean looking if a little thin.

In this instance I just tried to go off the measurements provided to maybe steer them in the right direction.
However, I'm the first to admit that I know very little about watercooling having never done it. I've wanted to for years but I've either never had the finances to justify it or something else has come up and taken priority.
