RAID 0 vertex 3

just wondering how bad of an idea it would be to have 2 vertex 3 120gb SSD;'s in a raid 0 config for my boot drive? will it cause me stability issues, or is there a big risk of drive failure now days?

rest of specs??? and the vertex 3's had issues mate if you havent purchased already I'd buy different ones. I run ssd raid and no stability issues.

I agree get some decent ones from kingston, Corsair, Intel, Crucial, Samsung.

hoping around $300 or so for both....but thats not a set in stone price.....if theres a good enough reason to spend $500 it can be done, but i dont want to waste too much $$$ on this

I have 2 crucial C300's they run great the M4's came out later at a slightly faster speed. but in all honesty even at their slower rated speed they are stupid fast. Corsair's Force 3 are another amazing ssd I havent used one yet but all reviews show them to be very reliable. Kingston is another great Brand. I tened to shy away from intel and sammy's as they are normally higher priced.

Not sure if it's the same in Canada but here in the UK you can get a Mushkin Chronos 120GB for £85 ($135 CAD), but they can be very hard to find due to the fact they sell out super quick. Other great choices would be Corsair Force 3, Kingston Hyper X, Intel 520, Samsung 830, Crucial M4 and the Patriot Pyro SE
