Think you forgot the clock spiking the 3xxx series cards were doing and crashing before Nvidia fixed it with a driver. Every gen has a rough driver launch.
2xxx had models with fan curves giving grief. Just give it a short time and it will be fine.

TBH that wasn't really a driver issue. It was a hardware issue, and was patched by the driver. The cards were clocking too high. Probably for reviews.
These issues AMD describe are quite blatantly driver issues. Mind you, I guess it doesn't matter if you can't get the cards any way. Maybe they are saving people aggro with this paper launch lol.
