Radeon X1800XT @ 1GHz Core, 2GHz RAM!!!!!!

Yesterday W1zzard was able to provide me a beta-version of ATITool which included options to raise the GPU speed for R520. Well.. it worked and didn't crash at 860 MHz limit where I was stuck with ATI's internal Winclk utility.

Radeon X1800 XT was cooled down to -80 Celsius and I applied some extra voltage to GPU and memory.

The result:

Radeon X1800 XT running GPU @ 1005,75 MHz and Samsung 1,26 ns GDDR3 memory @ 1003,50 MHz (2007 MHz DDR) in 2D-mode. No 3DMark05 yet.. I'll try that next.

I think this is the first time in world when graphics card breaks the 1 GHz barrier! On CPU side we saw this 6 years ago when Intel and AMD were really pushing Athlon and Pentium III to 1 GHz.

Well I must say, these ATi's are really starting to look promising on the OC.

AS SEEN HERE.. The X1800XT rapes an Overclocked 7800GTX. Let's use Kemp's system (which is really) good. He can't pull 9k OC'ed. (Soz mate). His CPU & RAM definentally aren't holding him back (as they are teh pown).

Well, nick remember a comple things before you start judging

-Kemps is not nitro cooled

-The X1K has higher speeds to begin with so it is eaiser to pull it up

-Nvidia's don't OC much to begin with

-Gotta luv DFI

Considering those I say it is good but they can match IMO

I'm not a fanboy and I don't really care about who wins BUT that chap on air has an FX-57 on over 3GHz and 2gb RAM. Anyhoo: this is what the ATI cards should be getting when you think how bloody long we've waited for these fuckers...

And oh yeah: no volt modding shenanigans on my card either

Still think the GTX/GT is far better vfm
