You would have thought it would have had dual fans at the least considering the power of the card. Then again maybe AMD has worked some kind of magic and managed to make a card with really low temps
To everyone talking about the fan just go and look at the XFX 5970 which also has a center mounted fan and managed to keep the 5970 rather cool. I am however very interested to see how this card performs and the price as AMD are now behind Nvidia in terms of performance (just) I'm wondering whether they will bring it in at a cheaper price than the 5970 was when it came out to gain more customers. Anyhow not long to wait and then we can see what Nvidia bring to counter it

If they're ok, could you post a pic of a top-down shot Tom ? I want to check if they've done something.. .. we thought they would ? If you like.
Top down with the heatsink on? I know PCB shots are a no no already. Still waiting for AMD to clarify for me as I want to make a video aswell!

With the shroud on should be ok.

Looking at the gap between the 2x 8 pin pcie power connectors, about an inch long, no connection for spidf ?
I'm almost sure there was one on the pcb, perhaps it's moved to the rear, but the shroud looks like the new 6970 eyefinity, rather than something else that was in the pipeline.

Really looking forward to seeing what this card has to offer. I'm more excited for the GTX 595, though.

over a bloody week until we can know anything lol really wanna know how amd have tamed the heat... a 6970 isnt a hot card at all but two of them?
Looking at the previous dual cards by ATI, I'm guessing downclocked 6970s.
Right I cant do ANYTHING publically till the 8th so no pics or videos
