Rad/loop questions

All, I have settled on a thermochill PA120.2 for my soon to be built water cooling set-up...I have a question for u. Would it be worth fitting a PA120.1 in the loop to cool the water after its been through the CPU block (before it moves to multi-GPU blocks)??? I know the thermochill rads don't impact flow rates as other rads do so...

Is it a viable option or would it gain me 1 degree at best due to further restrcited flow rate?

Very little heat is gained or lost through one pass of anyone component. So radiator placement means almost nothing. What are you planning to cool, you say multi-gpu so thats 2 gpu's and one CPU. Your going to need alot more than a pa120.2 I'd say for that. Best option would probably be 2x 120.2's or a 120.1 and a 120.3

Will be cooling:

NF4 chipset

FX55 CPU

Dual 256mb 7800GTXs in SLi

I thought the Pa120.2 would deal with that easily?

When I ran my loop like that I used an HE120.3 w/ 6 high speed Panaflo's in push-pull config and that was pushing the rad to the max considering where I had to mount it.

What kind of case is this all in?

I've read the benefit are outweighed by reduced flow rates....so probably not worth installing a second rad at case exhaust point. If anyone can prove that this would be beneficial (second rad on the loop) then post ya findings here all!!

Cheers guys!

I would offer to do some tests with this Thermaltake Dual+Single radiator kit i've got here if you like. Not sure how the results will be entirely relevent tho. :wavey:

Cathar once said something to the point of -

"Flow rates mean nothing when that is all you consider"

Don't be so concerned about flow and be more concerned about overloading a single radiator

if u could run a test that would be great!!

Ok well i'm gonna be reviewing this kit within the next couple of days, so i'll PM you the results as soon as i know
