I have spend days trying to break 15000 in 3DMark05 the closest I've got is 14978, when i try to get beyond this the test crashes on either of the last 2 tests does anybody no what 3d mark is testing here and if so is there any specific tweak that might help?

I achieved the above score with these settings

HTT 249/1.6v/

memory 2.5/3/3/6

GTX 499/1387

Okay you need to flash your BIOS on your cards so that 3d is preset at 500/1390 and also overclock your 2d to 400mhz clock at least.

Also using Rivatuner to adjust the level of detail.

You should be able to run 268*13 with ram at 2.5-3-3-6 giving you more system bandwidth also - and in the DFI BIOS disable the ERRATA 94 and 128 settings.

Sometimes setting the SLI Aperture to AUTO in the DFI BIOS helps.

Finally in the BIOS increase the PCI-E Speed to 115Mhz.

If you are not running the PRO version of 05, after the 3d tests finsish (when the first CPU test starts) press escape - dont panic, you will register a score without going through them (sometimes gives you more points) This works in 03 too and could also boost your scores (the trivk with 03 is to start pressing escape while the first CPU test is loading).

Make sure before you run the tests that all anitvirus, firewall and spyware tools are disabled.

Turn off system restore - make sure your swap drive (virtual memory) is on a separate drive to your OS.

In the Nvidia driver window (start, control panel, display, advanced) make sure that AA and AF is turned off. Make sure VSync is Turned off and settings are at high performance. All optimisations should be switched on.

Finally press ctrl-alt-delete set 3dM05 priority to realtime, run the tests and you should see some improvements.

Cheers Mav I had run out of ideas.

How do you flash the BIOS on the cards again?

I've heard this is a bit risky?

Firstly if you are not comfortable doing it then don't.

But you can use an all-in-one flash program called SLI flash it should flash both cards at the same time automaticially (but sometimes doesn't). I always flash both cards together then flash remove the top card and flash again to be sure. Don't worry u can flash the old BIOS back using the backed up BIOS on the floppy disk. OR find the original BIOS at www.mvktech.net

You unzip the program to a floppy then copy the BIOS to flash in the root directory, the program backs up your old BIOS in the folder named 'BACK-UP on the disk, which you can copy into the root directory to flash back if needed. Only put one BIOS to flash in the root directory at any time to avoid confusion/errors so if you put one in move or delete the prvious one, keep a file on your comuter called VGA BIOS and stroe them there.

If you fancy a play with clocks and stuff then there is a program called NIBITOR that is quick and easy to use and allows you to easily edit your saved BIOS's works for all sorts of settings quickly and easily.
