R9 290x? Or TITAN?

I just tested shadowplay. It feels like it's too good to be true, little to no FPS hit and I'm capping 1080p at 60fps.

Whats the video quality/filesize like?
Edit: Also, do you need to install nVidia Noob-mode to get shadowplay?

The video quality, well, here's a still shot:

(Yes it's JPEG but it is largely unaffected by compression, VLC frame is nigh identical. The quality is also downgraded by the fact that it just squished my 1920*1200 to 1080p.)

15min of 1080p 60fps is 5.5Gb.

GeForce Experience is required. :|

Hmm, that quality is not bad at all! Makes me want to go Nvidia even more :)

Would probably record in 30 fps to save some HDD space as YouTube is capped at that anyway. Shame in needs the GeForce Experience thing :(

Is there any limit as to how long you can record?

R9 290x or the Titan... Seriously? No contest IMO get the GTX780 or wait for the GTX780Ti or a better cooled R9 290x, please watch

and see what the Guv has to say, really pay attention he'll save you a small fortune and give you some idea as to why you can't compare the Titan to the 290x :)

I have just tried it on a quick game of COD 5, and it didn't impact the performance of the game at all.

Was still able to run the game at between 180fps and 200fps, and it used 5.5gb of space for 15 minutes of footage.

The quality is actually really good.

You can also choose whether you want it to allow you to record more than 20 minutes at a time but it's, just a case of changing 1 setting and that's it.

I am actually liking it but will have to test it abit more.

I can't believe somebody is asking this xD

Me neither tbh.

If you have the kind of cash to consider a Titan (I appreciate not everyone gets hardware for free ;) ), then your question would be more along the lines of 2x 290 or 2x 780.

AND I'd hope you got one heck of a monitor arrangement to go along with it.

The Titan is a freak. If you bought them when they were the only option, then fine, although you should have had the sense to realise the card is a one-off freak and would have a cheaper alternative around soon enough.
