Quiet mechanical drive

I've got a Seagate Barracuda 1TB in my rig and I am more bothered by the noise my WD greens make when they go out of sleep mode tbh.

They're not SSD's , but one thing I know for sure is that they are quieter than most older drives that I've had/have, hopefully quieter than mokeynuts's old 500gig drives. Not many people complained about them being loud that I know of, but it depends weather you're a quiet freak or just annoyed with the humming or buzzing of your old stuff.

I`m a bit of a quiet freak and get annoyed at the humming and buzzing of the old stuff .
I`ve recently rebuilt whole rig apart from my storage drives
there doesn`t seem to be to much info on sound levels of mechanical drives .
plenty on fans, coolers,GPUs and PSUs etc

Get either the Seagate or the WD, find a place and hang it on elastic cords, or you can try the Caviar Green from WD. They are quieter but I heard that they are also slower.
