At that resolution don't even bother with a 4870X2 - they only start to shine at 1900x1200. Anything less is a waste. Not to mention 2x 4870 in CF is still a huge waste of money as I don't think in scales well in any current game.

Either get a bigger monitor or save your money and get a cheaper card.

Indeed ATi still had the crown at this time. My X800XT PE (AGP first edition - not fake underclocked version) was had higher benchs than every review until the 8800GTX. Which made my next upgrade easy.

lol I was the first person to vote for ATi and when viewing the poll it was 3-1 to the 7900 and it did make me think maybe I'm rerembering it wrong. My x1800xt rocked my socks off back in the day.

I must say, my X1900XT was better than my 7900GT if that's any indication.

What? The 4800's scale immensely well for the most part.

And yeah, if the decision was mine the XTX would be it every time.
