What is a PHYSX CARD and what does it do?

it runs nvidia physX in some games like batman:AA and mass effect 2,altho physX cards are redundant and nvidia GPU's from the 8 series up have physX processing built in.

basicly the CPU did all physX and now when you have 8series GPU or higher,the GPU handles physX

in a nutshell fella

PhysX is bascially a Physics and Particle system. It makes explosions prettier, smoke trails beautiful and things like cloth (flags, clothes and etc) react realistically.

Anything on the NVIDIA side from the 8000 series and up can do PhysX. Since it is exclusive to NVIDIA, ATI cards can not do PhysX without an accompanying NVIDIA 8000 series card or higher.

Hi Steve, thanks for your response. When I build my new computer if I decide on a NVIDIA card, I will contact you to guide me.

In the past three months I've learned so much more about computers that it almost scares me.

How did I even use one without knowing all this stuff?
