It's looking more and more like 980's and Fury's are just not up to snuff for anything higher than 1080p any more. And the 380X was marketed as a 1440p card. Maybe for MOBA's, but how many gamers are buying 1440p panels for DOTA 2? I imagine there are a few, but not many.

I whole heartedly disagree. Especially since 1440p isn't as common as you think. Just look on the steam results..1080p is still the most common

Did I miss something? Did he not say that 1440 wasn't that popular?

But back on point, it is nice to see such demanding spec. Question is, is it down to needing the power or just poor optimisation? Only time will tell.

I think you misunderstood me.

An article like this might suggest the game requires a 780 or 290 for 60 FPS with medium-high settings or 30-45 FPS with max settings. That'll be at 1080p, right?

But if Quantum Break requires a 980ti or Fury X to hit 60 FPS with medium-high settings or 30 FPS with max settings at 1080p, that would make a Fury or 980 somewhat inadequate at 1440p. It would only make medium settings at 30 FPS be possible, which is not good at all. Of course, Remedy updated that list to include more reasonable requirements, but the point I was making at the time still remains.

I said, "Maybe for MOBA's, but how many gamers are buying 1440p panels for DOTA 2? I imagine there are a few, but not many." You can't strongly disagree with a comment that is saying the same thing as you. :p

I don't think that it's right that any game requires a £500 gpu to play it smoothly, Don't get me wrong I'm all for cutting edge systems but I think games should be available to the mainstream gamers too.
