Sorry for the poor Pun.. But i have my quad core CPU and P35-DS4 installed and its all running smoothly..

get.php

Coretemp

get.php

All running

get.php

The DS4

The temps are all pretty good in my opinion and the motherboard looks awesome.. My CPU used to be 5.0 in vista and now has a vista score of 5.9 the only thing holding me at 5.5 is my memory. As you can see its the G0 stepping revision and the the highest ive seen the temps hit is 43c on core 1.. core 0 has hit 40c and cores 2 and 3 have hit 39c.. All in all the change went well after a call to microsoft explaining my change in motherboard and need of new activation code.

Me overclock? lol.. i was just starting to learn my old mobos bios after 6 months of using it.. Ill learn abit about this one and look for some Q6600 overclocking guides then ill maybe give it a shot..!! lol

Temps are great mate, mine is E6750 is currently at 47 under load on stock cooler. Really need to order a decent cooler.

The board looks great.

Bump up your vcore to 1.45v, fsb termination to 1.49v, nb to 1.5v and raise your fsb up to 400 in 10mhz increments... :)

I got to 425*9 = 3.8ghz to benchmark but i raised the voltage up to 1.5/6v and it wasn't prime stable at that...

Cheers Mr.Smith ill give it ago next weekend maybe starting college tomorrow so i need to get myself sorted for that.. :)

In the Bios what do i need to change anything else? And if i only wanted to go to say 3.0Ghz could i keep it at stock voltages?

orite cool, So wat do i need to disable? coz i read that things need to be disabled to overclock.. :) So if i just up the FSB by 10 each time? and see how high i can get off stock? it wont damage the CPU will it?

just keep stock volts, up the mhz by 10, game do w/e u do, and up it 10mhz more if its stable, if ur system doesnt boot or gives u a blue screen, go down 10mhz again, since u would need more volts for that extra 10mhz

i just choose a nice solid number that i like, lets say 3.2ghz on ur CPU, jump right to it, if it dont boot, up the volts, if it dont boot again, up it again till u do and then orthos to see if its stable, thats just how i do it :D

less time consuming

Orite cool. i think ill just jump right to 3.0Ghz So to jump to 3 wat FSB would i be looking at? Sorry if i sound really n00by i just wanna learn abit about it all so im more confident. :)

Mate, you are on water.

Try the volts I suggested. A good G0 will hit 3.6ghz on those volts. More if you are lucky. Keep upping the fsb till it wont boot up. Then back down to a fsb where it did boot up. Then run prime95, the new one (green, not red!)

If it fails, back the fsb down again.

No experience of GB bios.

Turn off intel speedstep, vanderpool, usual cpu throttling crud. There is an overclocking guide in the articles section ;)

My G0 Q6600, is at 375FSBx8, 1:1 with ram, at stock :), (Vcore 1.26, NB 1.25). On Air.

Do as Smith said and upp it more :P

atleast try 400x8 (3.2Ghz)

Thats pretty much how you shouldn't do it if you ain't overclocked before tbh.

The 5-10mhz increments is much better for teaching yourself what everything does.

+ Rushing = dead hardware.

kk yeh ill just go up about 10 each time.. :) Apparently this board 'is a babtism under fire' for a first time overclocker lol.. but when you get used to it you can get some great clocks out of it.

So once ive turned off all the lame stuff, do i need to mess with mem timings coz im running 4x512mb sticks? So if i go straight to the voltages smith said then start upping the FSB or do i up it as far as it can go, then up the volts?

And if it fails to boot will it boot into bios? or what will i have to do? or will it revert itself back to the last known settings?

Cheers for this guys!!!!

If you have a bad OC, and it wont boot, you need to clear the CMOS.

I've been spoiled by asus, the commando and blitz both have a 'clear cmos' button.

Look for the battery on the mobo, like a 10p piece. There will be a little jumper near to it. You turn off the power, pop out the batt, move the jumper over to the otherside for 5-10 secs, put it back, battery back in and away you go. It's been aaages since I've had to do that, check the manual.

Personally, stick with the 1:1 ram divider while you are finding the cpu max OC. I always use the x9 multi too. With those settings I mentioned, I'd be suprised if you cant boot right in @ 3.4ghz (380*9) and be prime stable.

Once you are happy with the cpu clock, loosen the timings to 5-5-5-15, set the frequency to something suitable, e.g if you ram is rated for 800mhz, 900/1000mhz is probably going to happen. 1200mhz is not.

To test ram stability, load up prime again but set it for a blend test this time.

Also, you can let the quads hit 80 degrees under full load...

So say if i went straight in and changed to volts to what you said then set the FSB to at 330*9 to take me to around 3Ghz see if it boots. Then loosen the mem timings to 5-5-5-12 and take my 667Mhz to say.. 800Mhz? Then slowly increase to see how far i can i get?

If your ram is rated at 667Mhz, i think the best bet would be to slowly raise them, =/ but wait for a more experienced OCer before u do anything!!
