Hi there ive been trying to overclock my pc for ages now ive read alot of articles even with people who are using the same mobo and cpu as me however nothing has helped.

However i managed to overclock to 2.80ghz which shouldnt be a problem for my pc i guess, had it stable for a few days and today i turned my pc on and it just restarted and it went back to default. I only changed the CPU Host Frequency(Mhz) to 311 and it was fine for a couple of days but as i said it just went back to 2.40ghz today.

Ive tried many different ways of overclocking changing alot of things but nothing has worked.

Ive taken pictures and would be very greathful if somebody can tell me what to change so i can get my CPU overclocked to either 2.80/3.00ghz which i guess for a Q6600 isnt that hard.

My system -

Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600

Point of View GeForce 8800 GT 512MB

Gigabyte GA-X38-DS4 Intel X38

GeIL 2GB

Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro

Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound

Thanks.

Lock the PCI-E frequency to 100 - dont leave it on Auto

2 gig ram - check its not cas 4 memory.

Preformance enhance - disable that

memory multiplier - what settings have you under that?

Make sure that you dont have any values in the bios that are auto. Except the ram, I have the basics on mine but leave the rest :D

i dont know what you mean by "2 gig ram - check its not cas 4 memory."

i will check the memory multiplier now im not sure where to find it in the bios but ill have a look.

On the P35-DS4, all I did was take the PCIE off (AUTO), took the DDR speed off (AUTO) and to a fixed speed 800 or 400 or whatever, then cranked up the fsb.

Haven't any experience of the bios settings as frankly that's all I needed to get Q9400 to 3g, so I haven't spent any real time in it.
