Hello,

I just built a new system and need help overclocking to at least 3.5 ghz on my Intel Q6600 with Gigabytes GA-EP45T-DS3R board. So far I tried different settings and it always load back to the default setting at 2.4 ghz.

Information:

MB: Gigabytes GA-EP45T-DS3R

CPU: Intel Q6600

Memory: OCZ Intel Extreme 4gb DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666)

Graphic: Radeon HD 2600PRO

Power supply: 500W Aspires

I need help with settings and recommendation to make overclocking successful. Thanks

Make sure you have to choose "Exit and Save Changes" before you quit BIOS. I hope that is your problem? You should post detail like how did you overclock so it make more easy. If you Q6600 its a G0 stepping so you have noproblem with the CPU, B3 stepping will stop about 3.4 or 3.5 if you lucky. But just make sure your board can afford that high FSB (458x8 or 400x9). You should first lower CPU multiplier to 6 and increase FSB to find max FSB of your board (NB voltage. FSB terminal voltage need for a higher FSB). If its pass 480Mhz so you wil be fine for 3.6Ghz. Hope it help and good luck, looking forqard to see your result.

Just be aware that I have read that some of the new Q6600 G0's don't overclock as well as the older ones did. Just try and increase the FSB slowly and test it with Prime95, keeping an eye on the temps. What cooler are you using?
