Hi Everyone,
I have been looking at building a new rig for quite some time (Decided to wait till Haswell and corsair carbide 540 air before doing anything about it).
I want to build a rig where I also consider how it looks (for the first time in my life!), but of cause also want some power to back the nice looks
.
So far this is what I have in mind.
Blue ** = Decided to go with this part, unless the good people of OC3D steers me in a different direction
Red ** = Not decided yet, need feedback.
**Tower: Corsair Carbide 540 Air
**PSU: Corsair AX 860I
**Mobo: MSI Z87-GD65 GAMING Z87
**CPU: I7 4770K 3.5GHZ 8MB
**Memory: Corsair Vengence Pro 1866MHZ ( 4 X 4GB ) (2x Red, 2x Silver)
**GFX: GeForce GTX 770 ( Or is he 780 worth it in the end? )
**Storage: 840 Pro 256 GB
**Storage 2: My current 1 TB SATA barracuda drive
**Cooling: Corsair H100i
**Cooling: 3 x Corsair Air Series AF140 (Quiet Edition - For case)
**Cooling: 2 x Corsair Air Series SP120 (Quiet Edition - For H100i)
**Misc: Corsair Individually Sleeved Modular Cables (Red)
Notes:
What I had in mind with the memory was removing the coloured metal plate and get black mem blocks.
I really for once want to consider how the overall rig looks like. I do not want to go all out with coloured water or like, but just having hardware which goes well together as well would be nice for a change
.
I hope you can help me, I am OK with knowing what is good hardware, but once I start digging deeper and have to select a manufacturer like Corsair, Gigabyte, MSI etc I am lost.
I overall end goal is I want to build a small Micro ATX power rig, I love the carbide case but will definitely consider other dedicated Micro ATX cases as long as they are good for cable tidying and looks good.
Once I get this new rig up and running, I was considering donating parts from my last rig (not my current, it stays in the family a bit longer
) to a OC3D member who (if possible) can benefit from it. Its not awesome parts but not bad either. I will create a separate thread for this later if there is an interest for this.
Thanks in advance for any help towards my new build, any advise is appreciated!
Mark
EDIT:
I have updated the parts like after the kind feedback (Thank you!)
EDIT 2:
Completely forgot to add the storage I had in mind as well, updated the post, thanks!
EDIT 3:
Forgot that I need to add the fans I want to the list as well. Also updated the colours of the parts list
