Wow....Is that for the whole area you're residing in or just a sum for the costs it would take to expand the services? Sorry, not quite getting it.

About how much will you be paying for internet service monthly, if you don't mind me asking? 40Mbps looks great. It's enough for all your downloading needs. BT all the way.

Welcome back by the way.

Are you still using that horrible 0.001mbs connection?

In denmark you can get like USB dongles that run via 3g hasn't that been an option?

The area was once a field (about a year back) and the coverage is very poor. I lose my GPS when entering the area. 3G is a no no lol, plus prices = high

Well i get like 5-9mbs for 40£

The guy next door had a 3G dongle when he moved in. I seen that he removed it and had broadband activated a week later so if he did get a signal, he must of had a very poor speed

IF YOU CAN CALL IT BROADBAND

It's because Branson is leeching all the money to fuel his private island...

I should be going to BT infinity soon, yet they keep pushing the date back for my area

I'm sure you have a better speed than me

I live in the middle of nowhere behind a stone quarry. ADSL is the best I can get out here, but I'm sure as Hell not moving into the city. The convenience of hiding bodies is so worth it.

I had 0.75 Mb/s for a long time till now.I'm with BT and finally they replace some cables in exchange on my land line now I'm getting 4.5 Mb/s - not so bad, but not enough as we are leaving in 21st Century

Within 2 years they will put fibre-optic, but not in my village unfortunately, so maybe I will get 20 Mb/s as still I will be connected via coper cable to my house - shame.

Wow, 37GBP/month for 0.01Mbps service. Are they trying to rob you?

I have the same problem in relation with yours as well. My area does off fibre optic cabling, but the companies that provide internet services don't want to and aren't willing to spend their earnings on expanding and setting new cabling everywhere. If more people were to have these kinds of services, you'd think the price would go down a bit at least?

you'd think that the cost of setting them up to new customers would be offset by the revenue generated from those new customers aslong as the extra cabeling was cost effective (i.e. no point laying 100 miles of cables for 2 people, but laying 20 miles of cables for 50+ people would be good)

Exactly, they earn billions, weekly!

The area should have around 200 families (by mid 2012)... the main reason for the 'no' was:

I really do fail to see what would be the problem, this is the road:

Down 1 hill and along a straight road....

around that little bend, reaches my road...
