[Project WIP] TUF Theme

Hi all,

I am currently planning on building a new system from scratch.

Backstory (Skip if you want):
I live in an area with a lot of power fluctuation. When there is a thunderstorm (even if it's 500 km away) we get spikes. If there is none, we also get spikes. This year alone we had 2 full grown blackouts that lasted at least 5 hrs each.
These facts transformed two of my systems to something as valueable as toast.

As I said, two systems went straight to hell (Boards gone, as a result CPU and RAM). Everytime I chose different components in the hopes that this time they will withstand the next "assault". (An UPS was not part of the "family" until this january... sadly)

I lost boards of Gigabyte and MSI until I got a combination of ASUS Board and Corsair PSU. Those could take a shitload of "fuck you" storms and don't give a fuck.

So in the last build I stayed with ASUS and got myself a Sabertooth FX990 R2.0 (And later a z97 Mark2), mainly because of the extended warranty and the proclaimed durability. And I'm hooked.

Because I've got to build something new and I have 6 months left 'till I start my dissertation I started to plan to build something that I won't have to hide under my desk and that will not sound like a plane taking of when working (Work = computer graphics department, therefore my systems sometimes have to work harder than they would have to, playing games)
Since the coard will most definitely be ASUS, as well as the cards the TUF logo came to mind.
Therefore, as kind of a tribute to those guys that spared me the running home to turn of the PC as soon as the sky got a little clouded) the theme will be the main part of the new build. (Perhaps I should name it TUFFY?)

First layouts will be in here tomorrow (I hope) as I am currenty trying to find the right colors (liquid, LED etc).

Components that are in for sure:
ASUS Sabertooth (either 990FX or z97 - not sure yet)
Depending on the board: FX-9590 / i7 4790K
2 X ASUS 290X / 780Ti (still trying to evaluate which one of these performs better for my purposes - TOM please help or read PM :P )
Corsair 760T (With a few additions/ cut outs)

Hope you are interested and hang on as this will most likely take a few months (First get the design and parts right, gobtain everything - currently moving and money will first go to new furniture, then to components, and then build the beauty)

After a few freehand drawings I could arrive the first concepts/ designs.

Changing the sides to make the case gain more width to the rear has two reasons:
- The wings can be seen in a frontal view
- I gain more space inside and (as can be seen in the second image) space for 3 fans

Side view:

The illumination of the front should be fairly easy. For the sides I am thinking about UV reacitive liquids and (the interior is not scarcely) let the sleeves run past the "arms" of the wings (upper arm cpu, lower arms GPUs) to get enough light and glowing :D

Full view (and not as dark)

Currently hoping to get the first parts soon and until then I'm trying to figure out if a colouring of the case to match the Sabertooth could work.

I'd be happy about a few comments and opinions.

could you make a white model? So we can see the details a bit better :)
looks good so far

Can do. It will just take a bit. Both machines are working atm and to be honest: Some details are crap and will have to be redone. The dark rendering was meant to obscure the flaws :D
