Project Silentium *56K*

Well, it is now 2007 and I think it is about time I built a new PC. The parts are coming in thick and fast now and my sister can't figure out where her camera has gone (it's 7.2 mpx so I've nicked it :p ).

The name, Silentium was chosen fristly because it is latin for perfection and secondly because it is two thirds Silent.

I would also like to give a huge thanks to Kempez, XMS and Ayd and the guys at ST who without, this project probably wouldn't have got off the ground. Also thankyou to everyone else who has taken the time to answer my questions on the products I had in my mind.

System specs are looking like this:

C2D E4300

ASUS P5B deluxe

2gb Mushkin XP2-8500

Hiper 580W TypeR-Mod (from old rig)

7800GTX (from old rig)

200GB SATA2 Seagate Barracuda

Sony DVD-RW

Case either LianLi PC70 or Chieftec Mesh full tower

Cooling:

Swiftech Apogee - mirror finish

NexXxos GPU block - mirror finish

Laing DDC+ w/ AC plexitop

120.3 black ice radiator

3 x sharkoon 1000's (need steal off Mullet ;))

plenty of XSPC HiQ tubing.

Nice specs there Llwyd, deffo keep us updated on this one, more pix :)

Also make sure to report back how well that E4300 clocks, I'm very interested to see what these babies can do!

Nice components :)

Will be interesting to see how well the E4300 retails clock.

Has the northbridge heatsink on the P5B got fingerprints all over it? :(

is that Masterkleer tubing or is it Tygon? nice compents btw :yumyum: :yumyum:

neither, its XSPC HiQ tubing. Its ID is exactly 3/8ths / 9.5 mm which makes for max flow in a 3/8ths system BUT as the walls are so thick, the OD is basically 1/2" which can cause some problems with compression joints. Ive just done a little fitting with it and its nice and flexy

Yep, they're the new performance enhancing fingerprints from Intel, cost a little extra but worth it in the long run
