I have 3 computers to build, and well i made a mess so far !! :p

Everything but the CPUs, DVD drives and my brothers mobo arrived for mine and my brothers (I'm not getting a case yet :P),

and Everything bar the case for my mates arrived at his (apparently i forgot to put that on the order :D)

get.php

I forgot how annoying waiting is :P

Mmmm I love the smell of new hardware. I see you have an ASUS Blitz too mate, I'm just finishing leak testing mine as we speak. Keep us posted with lots of pics though :) :yumyum:

mmmmm :yumyum: ...I see some choice hardware there mate.

It actually looks a little like an OC3D "Editors Choice" convention :p

I'm impressed by that Fusion NB block, currently sitting @ 30 degrees under water.

At what voltage? What are you rockin in the AA - q6600/e6850 - i know you have both too, hey how are they clocking max stable/voltage please

Sorry for hijack

I've just gotten the Blitz installed and am still leak testing atm, I'll give it a push tomorrow for you as I'm home from work @ 12pm. Straight up though the voltages are considerably more friendly on CPU (Q6600) than the P5B was.

=/, Cant finish my order for the last parts, untill i can fix a bank error/problem :(

*goes and reads the Blitz's manual to cheer up* :P

Freshly received boxes of hardware ftw.

.. boxes missing ftl.

Yeah spend a few hours taking in the smells and reading stuff u'll probably forget about the next day :p

hehe... yea reading...

i couldn't help myself ^^

get.php

Just wondering... when it get the cpu, it will melt that plastic underneth it wont it?

Also i never found out what these little pins are for.. i just bent them out of the way last time i built my pc :P... what are they for?

get.php

and that means? =/ i have no clue lol

plus i realised what the rubber thing was... its for mounting the motherboard on a surface out of the case ^^ :P

If u were to mount the mobo inside a wooden, plastic, or any other kind of non conductive material, the tabs ensure the i/o plate as a whole is sufficiently grounded. This prevents u reaching around the back with a lead and getting anything including and above a static shock.

It will also channel any static u may have inside if u happen to reach around and touch the plate.

Without the springy tabs, it is pretty possible to have the i/o plate touch nothing on the mobo associated with a ground or low level volt, which can also result in little arc-sparks whilst plugging in something like a usb device. This can destroy an internal hub, as I`ve found with many a Dell. If u`r case is conductive, that`d probably help tho.

Hence the i/o plate can be somewhat important.

Ahh thanks, reps for u :P

Another question, the ATX12V conntector (4/8 pin) does it matter if i use the 8 pin? whats the diffrence, or is it just better to stick to 8 pin for more power?

if there's 8 holes, stick 8 pins in it, dont need to ask there really, if you deprive it of 4, i think it might cause stability issues, just give it the 8 to be safe :)

had a cap over 4 of them... thats what made me ask... but my logic is that if i can take more power then LET HER RIP!! ^^.. just dont want it to do somthing bad :P
