Classy-Fried-Chicken
So here it is! My first own build! I was planning this for a long time but the plan changed quite a lot compared to the original one. Now I expect many of you to find my choise of hardware questionable. Let me explain, in Greece the whole 'build your own PC' thing isn't really that popular, retailers take advantage of that and price products more expensive than the rest of Europe....
Named that way because it took so much time and frustration in order to get most of the parts on my hands. and the keyboard is still missing,,,
System Specs:

  • CPU: FX-8350
  • Motherboard: Asus 990FX Sabertooth 2.0
  • RAM: ADATA XPG V2 1600Mhz 2x8GB
  • GPU: XFX R9 290 DD Black Edition
  • CPUcooling:Raijintek Triton Core with 2 EKWB Vardar fans
  • PSU: Superflower Leadex 850W Gold
  • SSD: Adata SP920 256GB
  • HDD: WesternDigital Caviar Blue 1TB
All of the above will be housed in a Phanteks Entoo Pro (window), monitor will be a Samsung LS24C65UPC
Keyboard is a CMstorm quickfire TL with Blues mouse is a zalman ZM100 (yes I plan to change mouses very often hence the price)

You probably are thinking atm that I could have bought an intel i5 instead of going AMD in terms of the platform... Well... the i5-4690k costs 300euros here, and a decent motherboard on the z97 would be another 140euros. I bought the 8350 for 170 euros and the motherboard for another 170 euros. Ordering parts from abroad (eg from Caseking) wasn't an option since the goverment has blocked transactions due to the unstable banking system.

I'll probably have it built by tomorrow evening, then the difficult part starts, trooubleshooting windows installs etc...

Here it is (almost) Took me and my partner 3.5 hours to built this, but shenanigans have happened. The keyboard is still pending... Will keep you posted when I get it, install windows and try overclocking a bit

So far so good! I particulary loved the shinyness of the CPU with the coolaboratory stuff on it.. I also decided to remove the psu shroud and install the PSU fan upwards

I'm missing a keyboard. I expected the 23.6'' monitor to be well.. a bit smaller.

I figured out that I should do some cable management today because yesterday I had issues closing that side panel. The case cas really good cable management space behind the mobo tray.

Interesting...

Any particular reason for using Coolabratory over say MX-4 or something else?

How is the Rajintek? Any issues?? I know they are known for leaking, read lots of horror stories!

The leaking generally happens in shipping due to the poor packaging. If the cooler is fine upon opening, it should stay fine.

There wasn't any MX-4 on the retailer and they didn't know when they would get it, the NT-H1 was more expensive than the coolaboratory stuff.

The box of the raijintek cooler was "raped" during shipping but I checked the fittings and the waterblock for cracks; was fine so went ahead and installed it.

 You removed the PSU shroud? Whyyyyyyyy?
Because carpets.. (not in the summer but during winter) Plus I like the LEDs on the connectors of the super flower PSU. ^_^

The XFX logo is <3
