It is, i believe, to stop the cable kinking.

Well, i would never have said it stops kinking as its not very strong, but you can buy metal stuff which is pretty sturdy.

Well actually they are marketed as anti-kink coils or helix coils..

I've always thought they can't really help much but there ya go.

The coils work like a dream to stop kinks. I always use the coils on very tight corners keeps the tubing fully open to allow more flow.

Anywho, very nice setup and beautifully put together.

I bought coils as a mistake on my first WC build and they were invaluable in sorting the kinks in the tiny space I had.

Ive never managed to get them to stop my tubes kinking, but then again, never really had a kink. Ill let you guys win that round.
