Project CrossFlow II

Ok I realized the other day there was not enough time to build a completely new case for the Lan (next Thurs:eek: ). So I am going with my original plan a copy of BadAss but PIMPED OUT!!!!!

I am gonna be stingy with the picts till next week but here is whats going inside.

Mobo is DFI 590 W/X2 4200

Memory is Corsair XMS2

Good Ol iMON W/Remote Control

Hdds are a Pair of WD 160s in Raid0

PC Power & Cooling 510 (modded of course)

LiteOn Slotload laptop DVD

And for a GPU a EVGA 8800GTS, I was gonna go with SLI GTSs but figured my CPU was a little weak for 2 of them.(my poor 7600GTs, off to the closet)

For cooling the ChillIt hasn't showed up ( I knew it was too good to be true) so its gonna be H20. I am using a DangerDen dual 80mm rad with a DD DDC+ Pump(with a modded top) and Apogee CPU cooler.

The case is gonna be Candy Red with smoke end panels.

Here are a couple of picts I will show, on this comp I made the mobo tray I/O 1 piece out of Red Plastic with the PS mounted to the bottom of it with the soldered wiring.

Here is a shot of the HDD/DVD rack showing the controllers for the PS Voltages

is that a slim dvd drive off of a lappy?

Yes, I got a slotload so the front would look cleaner and it allowed me to use a pair of HDDs.

And the hole to the left is for the coolest looking fan ever..

This version Is smaller than a Microfly, about 2" less deep and 1/2 less wide even though I am using H20 and a 8800GTS.

The controllers for the PS voltages have exposed contacts

So I covered them with Shrink tubing

I think I pretty much have the bottom done I just need to paint it. Here is a pict showing the DangerDen dual 80mm rad

very nice, i love the idea of the pots h/e for me id proboly slip on one and crank one up too high, thus psu and whatever component attached = gone. think it would be pretty cool to have a cover over it something like this, i know its not a switch but.

Thanks Kempez, check out how I fitted the fan (hows that for a intake to cool Mosfets/Memory)

and I didnt want you and ai_01 to think I had forgotten you so I used a alum handle:wavey:

The loose wiring is for the iMON that goes behind the front smoke panel.

I dont have a lot of time to mess with the 8800 but I felt I had to do something. I will be curious to see how the temps are affected. Here is the stock exhust plate (it must block 50% of the heat trying to get out)

Picture076.jpg

I removed the plate and molded the top to aid flow. I have a bunch of filing left to do but you should get the idea

Picture078.jpg

I have a Silenx 80mm fan on the back side blowing cool outside air over the Chipsets and into the 8800GTS cooler. It will be cool to see if it helps temps.

Your work never fails to impress mark. How do you get the cuts on your I/O pannel so exact?

Im always messing stuff like that up:(

great job mark!!

i like the water cooling setup thats going to happen on this... duel 80mm lol it looks akward to me... like it wants to be a duel 120 but just cant... like a realy realy realy muscular dude who is 5foot 5

how does it perform?

love the case... are you going to paint it?

Mark, great job as usual. This is going to be a sight to see when it's finished!

Keep up the great work, you do an amazing job on these case mods / custom enclosures.

Its only cooling the CPU so a dual80mm is fine. Also I am using 1/2 tubing and a modded pump.

The case color is gonna be Candy Apple Red.

Basically I cut it with a Dremel and use a file to square it up.

(it can get pretty scary Ham, just in the mobo tray there are about 50 operations to make it. The trick is if you are gonna screw it up mess up on the first or second, nothing worse than messing up on the very last hole:cussing: )

If anyone was wondering how big the Thermalright HR-05 was here it is in person

Picture082.jpg

It has a simple mount but has to be the best design I have ever seen/used.

Its big enough to attach a 80mm fan.
