Problems with D-Tek Fuzion Block

Ive got the D-Tek Fuzion Block on my Quad core.

On average I had temps at around 44-55C on idle, depending on how tight the screws were on the block.

After a while, the screws on the block would just come loose by itself, and I would have to retighten the screws every couple of weeks to get the pressure block of the on the cpu right again. I didnt mind this, but at one point i remember the screw became so loose that temps reached over 100C before the motherboard shut itself down.

Do you think I should take the block apart? Why is it coming loose? Should I clean the blcok and then reapply thermal paste? I tighten the screws around the mobo but the pressure on the cpu keeps getting loose and uneven.

I tighten each top screw evenly (about 5turns each on all four) but the pressure just seems to go away after a while and temps begins to rise.

Is this normal for the D-tek??

Just to let you know, I used the thermal paste that came with the Quad core. Im thinking that i should have used something more tested and reliable. Plus I also used the thinnest layer of thermal paste (using a razer to spread) but ive got a sneaky suspicion that I didnt apply enough of it. Can someone please suggest good thermal paste that I can use, and info on how I should take the block off the cpu and how to clean it. Im kinda scared. I dont want to rip it apart or apply the wrong pressure on the cpu :s

How can I stop the screws from coming loose?

Is anyone else having this problem? This post is a lot longer than I expected :S

Thnx

Genius.

What size nuts are they?

Im looking on the D-tek website but it doesnt say anywhere. Im in the USA at the mo so I cant take the nuts to the shop to compare.

BTW can I just pull the block straight off the cpu?

Could be M4 or the more tricky to get hold of M3's (I bloody hate trying to get hold of long M3 nuts, not available from B&Q ).

Still should be able to get some Nylocks if you have a decent hardware store near you

100 bolts for £1 is a fantastic deal! um, but i only need 4...

Anything else to improve D-tek fuzion setup?

Has anyone got the Water Accelerator Nozzle Kit ?

Can I be rude and just ask a question? Ham - you said use ceramique, is this because it is a bit like an adheisive? I only ask as when I tried to take my pelt off it seemed 'stuck' on... I was scared of ripping the socket off the mobo!

Nah i just prefer it too silver based ones. Much, much less messy and easier too clean up. I got a 22g tube of it:D (normal tubes are 3.5g)

When i take the evap off my bench rig it pulls the CPU out the socket :p. 478 so no damage is done. But if it does get akward you just twist and it comes off easy enough.
