HI Guys

Since upgrading to Windows 7 Ultimate I keep having problems with my sound, its ok for a while, but then all of a sudden I have no sound at all, all the setting are correct and everything.

I have to restart my PC to get my sound back, probably does this everyday, and I can't thin of how to fix it.

My soundcard is :- Creative X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro - and I have tried using the latest drivers, but still get the problem.

I have disabled the onboard sound (in Device Manager)

Any idea's guys

Thanks

I get the sound randomly cutting out every few hours problem on my pc too. Had it with the USB card built into my old Yamaha mixing desk so got rid of the desk and dropped £200 on a Focusrite Saffire pro 24 audio interface (firewire). Still got the problem although it occurs less often now.

Luckily for me most of my shiny studio gear has power switches, the problem fixes itself if I reboot the Saffire or even just pull out the firewire cable for a second. Have to restart firefox and itunes afterwards to get sound working in them but it's a lot less hassle than a full reboot.

I haven't really looked into the issue yet as to me it's only a minor annoyance, but i'd think that it's something wrong within Windows itself now I know that it's not just me having this weird issue. Hopefully MS know about this and can offer a solution soon.

Just a quick update from me. Just spent half an hour on the phone to a guy from MS. Helpful but clueless. Ran disk cleanup and deleted my 2.26GB Temp folder though :D

Have you tried the card in a different slot Hayley? Could be an IRQ conflict but personally I think it's something to do with whatever MS replaced DirectSound with in 7. If you have a genuine copy of 7, try Microsofts online support, you may have better luck than I did!
