Powerstrip

Thats coz it aint there mate :(

A new rivatuner is imminent though in the interim I use nvtweak or nvhardpage - they give a little LOD tweakage, not as good as riva but it's like tescos............. every little helps ;)

LOD isnt in nVtweak its a key in the registry that you have to change manually if you know what your doing.

Which as not many people know the key, not many people know what they're doing lol.

Thats Bollox!! :)

I have adjusted mine using it - I dont have time to screenie this morning, but I will prove it to you.

To be precise - Boardy is right you can registry hack it - software is easier tho ;)

It's not bolox, I stand by what I say until proven wrong. Show me FULL LOD adjustment using nvTweak an I'l believe u can do it mate.

Actually you are right - it's in NVHARDPAGE!!

I never said full LOD - I said LOD adjustment ;)

Oh I will post the registry hack here too ;)

NVHardpage doesnt give full LOD. Quite a marked diff, +25(afaiK) on NVhardpage compared to +15 on Rivatuner on the 7900. Doesnt help scores a huge amount though, so theres not really a huge need for anything more than ~ +3/4 (set in riva) which is ~ +25 in NVhardpage

I never once said it did - but for 7900 series you can't use the current RIVA version and this is the only other software based tool that allows any sort of LOD tweak.

I currently use this and Power Strip and stand by the scores I have been able to achieve ;)

Registry hack does give FULL LOD adjustment tho ;)

Try playing with varying LODS. +15, while making the image look like a kids coloring in book doesnt actually give best results. Have found recently (and in the past with other cards) that LOD levels between 0 and ~ 3.2 give best results.

05/03 for instance with the 7900 seem to prefer LOD 0-> + 1 over +3. Not done a huge amount of testing though, but it seems poor image quality isn't a given for higher scores

Registry HACK for LOD

Borrowed from S A V @ XS (as in dont ask me anymore coz I simply dont know):

Start regedit.exe and find/make "D3D_88481200" key.

For all nvidia-cards: LOD 0 (00,00,00,00) ... LOD +15 (78,00,00,00)

And for all ati-cards "LODAdj" key (0..10).

"D3D_88481200" key not present in registry by default. It must be created manually in the same place where stored all other video driver options.

Try search for ".exe:D3DOGL_" string and create "D3D_88481200" key (type - REG_BINARY) in the same place. Key value interval is: from "00 00 00 00" (LOD 0) to "78 00 00 00" (LOD +15).

Note: if you find too many pathes to driver settings: uninstall driver, use some driver-cleaner (or registry-cleaner) tool, re-install driver, re-do search.

Or use RIVATUNER!!!!

Well first of all thanks to Victor Wang for the screenshots.

this is really simple:

Get the latest version of Rivatuner ( 15.8 )

Then go to Poweruser tab

Then sroll down to "Force VGA Device ID" and enter 92:

Hopefully this will help some of you.
