If distributers are guilty of scalping maybe NVidia should cut off the AIB partners supply and just sell more Founders Edition cards, it is not like they would have a problem shifting them.
As to the 4xxx and 5xxx series high end cards they have been very poor. I think if GPU manufacturers were limited to selling cards with a 300w TDP maximum this would solve so many problems we are seeing now.
More cards available as their chips would be smaller
Easier to cool
Lower power consumption
Smaller size
No more melting power connectors
The limit in TDP would drive innovation, there are ways of getting much better than RTX 5090 performance with much lower power consumption.
NVidia are guilty of using brute force to get high performance, they should go back to applying some design innovation to do the job but that would cost them R & D money.
