PowerColor Hits Up GDDR4 For HD 4850

I did read somewhere (dont ask me where) that the memory bandwidth on the gfxcards in general wasn`t as yet taking advantage of GDDR3 and it`s controller.

What would supprize me is if this gives u any significant performance change for the $14, or whether it behaves like a GDDR3 controller with GDDR4 chips. GDDR3 is going to run it`s course I would imagine.

What I would bet tho, is that the clock speeds would be that much more flexible for increments :yumyum:

The 4870 is proof enough at how bandwidth hungry the R700 core is, if this GDDR4 can overclock to 2400-2500 then we may see the gap between the 4850 and 4850 shrink considerably.:)
