hello every body, i was wondering if my tx850w would be able to repel this kind of fire power:D

SLI: XFX GTX 280

Intel Core i7 940

ASUS Rampage II Extreme

Corsair Triple3X 6GB DDR3-1600 CL8 kit

Samsung Spinpoint F1 320GB SATA2

Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 160GB SATA

Samsung SH-S223F

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer

Power supply: Corsair TX850W

Do a search for "eXtreme Power Supply Calculator Lite v2.5" and you can calculate your power requirements. But I have to agree with the others, this PSU is way more than enough to power your rig.

IM pretty sure Jim^^ tested an 850w corsair to a stable load of 980w (corsair always under rate there PSU's so that they look better in the reviews/tests.

Long and short is a Corsair wont let you down.

According to that with my CPU overclocked to 4Ghz and with two GTX 260 is SLI my PC only needs 700Watts and thats with 2 HDDs and 2 Blu Ray Drives, 6 Ram sticks, at a 100% peak load and with 25% capacity aging... tbh thats a lot lower then i thought...

I'm not at all surprised, PSU manufacturers have for years been scaring us into buying bigger PSU when really they should've have been focusing on efficiency. Graphics card manufacturers are also to blame, but in their defence when they state their PSU minimum requirements they are basing it on the lowest common denominator (i.e. rubbish and/or innefficient PSU).

Also remember that the recommendations are for peak power requirements. For the most part your system once started will use much less power. For my setup, a 400W PSU is recommended, but my PC only uses 150W when internet browsing.
