Power conditioner?

As most of you know, i'm here at i21....cool event so far! There's a guy here running a Mach I but has something called a 'power conditioner' between his mobo ATX connector and his power supply...it apparently enables him to hold his mobo in reset by restricting the power flow to it- power is restored once the prommie has reached a certain temp (-33 in his case). Basically wondering if anyone knows exactly what they are and/or where to get them. Not sure if they're official nVentiv kit and hence unsure about availablility. I know i'd never seen nor heard of them prior to the event

Definitely not an official thing - it sounds like a mod to me.

They were an official nVentive thing - but were only available for a short period of time shortly after they were released. Some people were having problems with the Mach I where it booted before the head was cold enough. I never got one, and have never had any problems with my mach I using AMD kit (I have never used Intel and so do not know if that was the target market).
