First real pc was some old apple, i dont have the specs but theres a pic of it somewhere and it suckedso bad. This was before we even had aol i think. It took like an hour to load paint, and when you moved the cursor outside of the paint box, it crashed and was a pain in the ass to get working again.

I'll find out specs and a pic if i can. hehe. dumb thing.

Here is a few of my first ever build last year, Please excuse the quality but they were taken with a webcam.

Spec:

AMD 3500+ Winchester 939 @ Stock Speeds (Didnt know how to overclock)

Asus A8V Deluxe

Sapphire X800 Pro (I loved it till I blew it :banghead: )

2x1gb Geil Value Select

Cheapo Case & Power Supply

When I first built "her" I took it down my local computer shop and he said it was the fastest pc he had ever been on :rollingla

Will try and dig out some more of the one before that (Pentium 4 2.4ghz)

have no image but my first was an amiga500 with rom1.2 modified to have 1mb chip memory instead of 512kb

then upgraded to amiga500 with rom1.3

later an amiga1200 with a 40mb harddrive, was enough for workbench and many games.

had an amiga2000 too.

I remember a PC we bought about 9 years ago, cost £1000. (I think we got ripped off)

It was a pentium 133, 32MB of ram, 3GB HD, 32X CD drive and 4MB gfx card....

Outstanding! I used to install game demos from CDs, but just deleted the files in windows explorer. It got slower and slower, until it just died! When playing games, opening and closing the CD drive would make it load quicker. Ahh, what a beast

Our first ever family PC we bought was in 1996, early 96. We had AOL 3.0 too.

Packard Bell :)

Pentium 100MHz

16MB RAM

1GB HDD

4x CDRom

1MB Integrated GFX.

yea but you were like 4 so thats a no counter. lol.

I have a Nascom 2 that I built in 1982, altho it's buried in the box room somewhere at the mo. Will try and dig it out this weekend and take photos.

It was Z80 based, running a Nascom version of CPM (NASDOS IIRC). It sat in a barebones chassis based on the map80 bus, with most cards being 12" sq.

Had a 5.25" Floppy but most big programs, Like basic or pascal support were added in an eprom socket. Added a pimped up ram card which was 64K, plus you could switch it in banks of 8k with big toggle switches on one edge.

It came out before the Speccy, Genie and the SuperBrain. Anybody got a SuperBrain? Isn't that the coolest name for a computer? You can just imagine one in Dr.Evil's volcano hideout :D

omg old kit..

c64 to start with, then c128 all the necessary (in attic)

Amiga500, with all kinds of extras (about 6 in attic)

Amiga1500 (in attic)

A1200, 020/30/40, 240ppc, running AOS, MacOS, Redhat, inactive for ~10 years (on floor in room for eff-sake)

Some slotA Athlon can`t remember stats, boxed up, might be binned.

AMD Athlon 800 (I think might be 1g), running @ 1333 - masses of drives.

AMD Athlon 1.2, on loan atm

AcerPower pII running at pfft don`t care, with 512m, good hard drive in it tho (being taken out this weekend)

AMD Athlon 2600, in the lab

AMD64 Sempron 2800, to be given away soon

AMD64 Athlon 3800 x2, in the lab

I still went on it. That thing got me to where I am today. :) If I had never used it, I might be a.. a normal kid :O

I don't have any pix of my old gaming rigs :( Not even my AMP rig which I lusted over for a year or two after building. In fact, I don't even have a picture of my first A64 build either.

And I most certainly don't have pix of any of my old old systems from the oldskewl days.
