Placing Videos in a Template in Sony Vegas

I edit my videos using Sony Vegas HD Platinum 11. I am starting to make a "weekly recap" video for my youtube videos, which is where I showcase all of the videos I've made in the previous week. The problem is it takes hours to fit all of the videos into my template.

Does anyone know of a quicker way to get the videos to fit exactly to the empty space? Could I make the boxes different colors, and then use some effect to replace the color with the video? I know chroma key, but I need to automatically re-size the video.

I ended up having to do some algebra to figure out the x and y distances for the cropping. I'll either keep doing that, or try to figure another way out.

Why does Sony Vegas Pro 11 have to suck so much? Now I can't even render my audio. I had to render my video, and then use my old Vegas HD Platinum 11 to add the audio in....
