Really disturbing case problem

I must excuse myself for first because I'm not sure if this is the right plays to post this. So, when I connect my phone, both an LG L5 (CM 4.4.4) and an LG G Pad 8.3 (Stock 4.4.2) have a lot of problems to connect to my my PC through the case's front panel. I have already checked if my cables and phone and tablet work correctly by pluging them to the rear I/O of my mother board. My case is ancient, but it still offers me everything I need so I don't plan changing it. The strange things come when I plug a USB stick, it works perfectly . Go figure it out. I tried connecting my phone to the PC of a friend of mines. I didn't work plugging it in the front panel, but it worked plugging it in the rear panel I/O. But his Galaxy Core Plus works just fine with the front I/O. What do you think the problem is? If you can find a way to change my current situation I would be very happy. Now, you may ask me why don't I Always put it in the motherbord I/O? Well, how my PC is positioned I have to crawl under my desk and I cant possibly go under it every time I must tranfer something! If it's such a no brainer to solve, I thought of such external options. If my problem is to reach the rear I/O I could just buy another cable and I know it works. Simple solution and realy straight going, but buying a USB HUB gives me what I need, butin this way I can have more USB 3.0 ports on my desk, so it gives me some advantages over the cable. For a third solution I thought of putting an front panel 2.5 card reader ( I will post photos). It's even better because it is more versatile. Problem! If my current front I/P doesn't work, will this card reader work? If it mathers in someway my motherboard is an Asus H87-Plus.

First of all; no bumps. If people can help you, they will post.

What case do you have and what is the revision of the USB ports on the front?

Have you checked inside the case to see if the motherboard connector is still plugged in properly?

Are you trying to charge the phone or connect it to open files? If you are charging it, what motherboard do you have, and does it have an 'always on' usb charging feature?
If you are moving files, you can always just put the sd card into the card reader and do things that way. Who is your carrier?

Sorry for the bumping , I just want to know it as fast as possible because I install custom ROMs, pass film and music and I just can't go bavk my desk every time. About what you say, my PC says that my devices are not recognized, but my USB sticks work. As I sad, the same happened with a friend of mine, his case must be newer and the same thing happened. I don't know what the case is exactly, but it's USB 2.0, the standard. Everything's plugged and works well, my printer is connected to the front USB's and it works. What do you think I should buy: cable, hub or card reader?

Actually, O don't have tge reader, I'm also asking what should I buy to solve the problem. I only have a regular front case panel. I speak about transfer of files because the phone charges itself from the USB port. What do you think I should buy: cable, hub or card reader?

One of these will do it

^ Why would he do that and have to take out the SD card whenever he wants to write to or from the phone? Besides, if he wants to install custom ROMs he's going to have to write directly to the phone.

Tbh mate, I'd just purchase whatever is cheapest or whatever can come in handy for you in other situations as well (like a USB HUB).

One last question; Are your front USB ports connected directly to the motherboard or are they pass-throughs / HUB?

They're directlu connected to the Motherboard.

They're directlu connected to the Motherboard.

You definitely have a weird problem on your hands and tbh I don't know what could cause it and/or how it could be fixed. Maybe you could try another USB2 header on the motherboard and see if that works.

As said before though, if you really do need to purchase a HUB or something similar as a solution, just buy whichever is either cheapest or handiest for you.

Thanks guys, I think I'll go with the cable for now, don't want to buy something that doesnt work.
