Phanteks Enthoo Luxe Tempered Glass Review

This case was great a few years ago when it first came out, but it is starting to show its age now.

I do agree that it has aged, but I also think there is more to it than that. It's an old case and has old features; therefore it is outdated. That is the mindset we have. It is more about how we perceive the case than any provable realities. The proof is this is still a great case, irrelevant of whether it has three 5.25" bays. A lot of people initially did some fantastic builds in it, but sadly it has been sidelined for newer models, ones that will likely be considered 'outdated' in five years time. That Corsair 460X that TTL just built into that's all the rave right now, I reckon it will be rarely spoken about in a few years time. The only cases that might stand the test of time are the ones that are a blank canvas, such as the Fractal Define S. It's basically just an empty box. In-Win's designs are a novelty at the moment; I don't think they'll be nearly as popular five years from now. Case Labs have remained popular for so many years because they are just plain boxes of various dimensions.

Well it turned out to be the perfect case for me. It had really all I needed which is 5.25" drive bays for my bay reservoir, plastic drive cages that don't rattle and cause vibrations into the rest of the case as my Fractal Define R5 completely failed in that regard. On top of that it has room for a 420mm radiator in the top compartment, which is a rare feature in cases and the tempered glass edition is very beautiful done and an added bonus for me.

Not all cases have to be ITX these days and smaller than a Coke can :D

Funny that you mentioned the typo when this review actually was (by far) the article with the most typos I've ever come across :D

I still like an optical drive bay for when you really have to burn a CD, because your car has no USB or Bluetooth, or when you have no internet and need to install your drivers after a fresh install and the list goes on.

For the 3.5" cages, I'm with you. I still have 3 seperate drives in my PC mainly because I'm not buying new ones, but if I'd do so, I'd get a 1 or 2TB, so no need for that much space.

Other than that, I like the case, one day I wanna build a PC with such a big case :)

Nice review, but you should proof read them as well ;) :P SCNR

As soon as the typo was mentioned and almost immediately followed by a typo I knew we would probably be getting deliberate typos on every page. I don't think I have seen anyone use the word anterior on the internet before, I can't recall reading it on the printed page more than a couple of times in half a century either. Cleverly written I thought.

CoolerMaster are Maker mad at t' moment but Phanteks have had this 'take it all apart, rearrange, or ditch' thing going on almost from their first case out of the gate. So you think all these drive bays/mounts are Old Hat? You don't have to keep them or you can re-purpose them, the choice is yours!

I'm not actually all that keen on this particular case but this review puts it up a few notches in my estimation, bringing out features that other reviewers failed to make me aware of. Good one!:)
