Hey guys i have a question

im deciding inbetween :

nvidia asus direct CU II 560 Ti pci 2.0 [307 dollar]

amd ati radeon 7850 pci 3.0 [360 dollar]

amd ati radeon 7870 pci 3.0 [500 dollar] [holland = scam]

but the biggest scam is that for 500 dollar i can get the new gtx 680

but it costs 662 dollars in holland -.-

my budget for a graphics card : 250-500 dollars

please keep in mind that holland is a ripoff land and i have 19% of tax + alot of shipping costs

so what do i choose?? my motherboard is pci 3.0 ready

if you have found another one that would be great

things i want : overlockable + good cooling + dual screen [no triple]

1 gb gddr5 is minimum

SLI and crossfire is not needed as i dont have that much money.....

The PCI-E Gen is pretty much just marketing for recent graphics-cards.

So i'd take the 7850 because of the little better performance over the 560 ti.

even if the 560 pulled ahead by a slight bit I'd still go with the 7850 as its newer tech can only get better while the 560 may be left behind in the long run.

yh but the problem was i thought it was already older cuz i saw it was 7850 which is under 7970

so i was a bit confused there

turns out the 7850 is newer

also i have chosen for the 7870 now and threw my ram cooler out of my list so that i can have even better performance

Good choise. Thats maybe the best budget card out atm tbh

Yeah that's a wise move, the 7870 is a great card. You can OC a 7870 so its as fast as a stock 7950, which is awesome. Plus there's no need for a RAM cooler when the DIMM's don't get particularly hot anyway.

hmmmm yh but i was thinking about overclocking the ram

besides that my ddr2 memory that i have right now runs quite hot

but yh i chose the asus 7870 direct cu II cuz its more silent and runs cooler

the asus 7870 im buying is still quite expensive its about 500 dollars while the american price is 360 dollars

told ya..... holland is scam damn taxes -.-

omg this just makes me mad..... i hope 2012 will be the end of all goverments....

would be nice, no more taxes

im getting a 7850 for 270$ from new egg here in america >.>

which one would it be?

i wanted mine from asus cuz i really like the features of cooling etc.

7850 price : 370 Dollars [price went up 2.8% wtf?]

7870 price : 468 dollars [price went down by 6%]

btw..... you are lucky to live in america

taxes for things out of europe are 33% that is 19% buying tax and 14% import tax + importing costs

so make that a 38% price increase -.-

sigh....... and that in exchange for legal drugs.......

We seem to be currently comparing a GTX560 vs an ATI 7850. However, the GTX560 is old gen and PCIe 2.0 while the ATI 7850 is PCI 3.0 and new gen. I point this out for the following reasons:

1) PCIe 3.0 is NOT supported by Sandy Bridge Processors

2) Since the ATI is new gen it's drivers aren't properly optimized in the same way that the GTX560 is

Therefore I ask this question: Is comparing the 7850 vs 560 given the current Motherboard/CPU generation a fair comparison?
