PC WONT START UP AT ALL

Hi

The full story is i bought a GTX 260 for my bros pc it cant fit atm so i thought i will take my 5870 out to test it incase its faulty and i need to return it inside the 30 days.

well i unplugged mine plugged it in it booted installed the drivers (yes i uninstalled amd drivers first) well when it was working i went to bed next morning i turn it on go downstairs come back up and its turned itself off.

i try pressing the power button still nothing i unplug the gpu and it turns on but i get error cpu fan nor working i check sure enough the antec 620 is doing nothing so i trun it off quickly.

but now after i intalled the stock fan the pc still wont turn on once it flickered with light then powered down now absoloutly nothing

i can get it to turn back on my taking the power cable out and holding the power button for 20 secs but then when it starts the bios says cpu fan error and the fan connected to the antec is not spinning.

what psu do you have? i once had a used gpu kill the psu

Try jumping the mobo or just removing the battery for a couple of mins.. I recommend an hour tbh. To jump the mobo move the cap to the other 2 pins. This is the first step I would take anyway. Try it

, look in the manual for the pins. Just for like 10 seconds and then move back to original position.

ive got it working again it seems the cpu fan socket is nolonger working on the MB so the CPU was overheating ive plugged the stock cooler into a system fan header and its working now with the GTX 260 so the antec is going to be tested now and see if it was the cause of the cpu fan header going but anyway everything else is working.

i found the cause that screwed up the motherboard as i thought maybe the antec insnt faulty so i plugged it into a spare motherboard header and a spark and pc shut down and wouldnt turn on i can to disconnect the power cable hold power button plug back in turned on fine.

so motherboard is going back so is the antec can someone link me that water cooling kit tom did that had a 120 rad

now the pc logs on really slow for some reason its using the stock cooler but temps are under 40.
