PC Wont boot [AT ALL]

Hi guys I wasn't 100% sure where to post this because I am not entirely sure on the cause.

Overnight it seems that my computer has stopped working for absolutely no reason; when I press the power button on my computer absolutely nothing happens. Last night I was gaming and using blender before I went to sleep. I turned the computer off via a normal shutdown, I didn't remove the power or hold down the start button.

I have tried jumping the mainboard power header and also using the motherboard power button with no success. I have removed all peripherals and interchanged my RAM sticks, checked every single cable and connection.

The strange thing is that even though my entire computer is powerless (no lights anywhere) the southbridge is still getting warm... I am utterly clueless here.
-Note: Just burnt my finger touching below the SB heatsink.

Help will be greatly appreciated,

Can you try a different device in the PC's wall socket, or the PC in a different socket?

Appears it's not getting any power at all, and PC components would not randomly break when turned off.

I have tried mutiple leads and sockets; and power is getting to the motherboard soemhow because the southbridge just burn't my finger. I'm keeping the power off but when I turn it on, a little bit below the heatsink gets ridiculously hot, but the heatsink is warm, everything else is cold.

That just makes it sound like the motherboard is dead. Are for instance your system fans hooked up to the motherboard or to the PSU?

Can you jumpstart the PSU with the fans attached directly to it? Do they spin up?

For the life of me I cannot find anything to jump the 24pin ... xD Anything I can try before I find it?

Also im curious why the southbridge would be getting enough power that it would burn my finger..? Even fully functional it wont get like this.

sounds like dead psu or mobo to me.

checked wall/socket/cord/extension fuse?

all power cables fit nice and snug?

power switch on psu in on/1 position?

paperclip test powersupply with something like dvd drive connected to it (nothing else), you can use anything thats conductive, i.e. wide scissors, paperclip, nails, combine nails with car jump cables, anything really.

if dvd still works, then chances are psu is fine and its mobo.

check 4/8 mobo pin, make sure its in properly, check 20/24pin is fitted fine, check pci/pcie/m2 devices are in correctly.

make sure you don't have anything conductive touching the mobo.

reset cmos, ideally take battery out and leave it for good 10-15mins until it drains instead of jumpers.

any error codes on onboard led display? check manual

Could be a faulty PSU, I have had this happen twice recently where the PSU failed but still gave out some power but not on all the connectors needed to start the system.

Make sure you try all the things the posters above recommend first though.
