Pc Problems!!!!

today while i was removing my mach2 backplate i accidently scrathed the back of the mobo well scraped more like its about 1 mm circle ...... it seems to have discconected a thin strip on copper so i prayed all would b ok. but low and behold i cant boot up anymore. im getting no output to the moniter no bios no load all the fans are running but the led lights on memory are not showing so i guess the mb has had it? can any1 think of anything else that might cause this sort of problem.

all help appreciated...

if the usb mouse is still getting its led glow? wouldnt that signify i semi boot up or sumething lol?

just means that ur board is providing power. But the broken trace must be something important since you are getting absolutely no boot up. Traces are very very important part of a motherboard circuitary. I suggest getting a new board since the manufacturer will prolly not RMA this board.

Ye thats what i was thinking. If its just the one trace, conductive paint/pen may work.

is that stuff widely available? would it be that easy to sort out then? i was gona take a picture but i can barely see it anymore im just guessing at were it is this is due to the fact that a bit of seal string apears to have taken the chipped plastic layer off and it all seems fine connection wise. i retried again but still no luck anyone know the besat way to get seal string of your mobo... its getting on my nerves..

just for those curious as to the problem i got a decent photo and looks like i will be off to maplin tomorow morning to pick up a pen. i hope it works didnt wana have to buy another mb untill some new conroe boards come out. thanks for oyur help.

Hrmmm in the pic it doesn't look like you've broken the trace, just looks like u've scraped it a bit, but maybe I can't see whats up in the pic

its broken alright

surely you can zoom in a bit with you uber mac by your side. its defintaly broken it all seems to easy thought and a bit hard to belive a bit of solder will fix all the probs.

auto shops will sell conduct pens or defog kits that have the stuff you need to. Looks like to me maybe you connected the 2 points but it is hard to tell by the pic.

Woah, bad luck on the mobo. I hope that the conductive pen works for you, even though it looks from here that the motherbboard trace has just been scratched.

why doesnt any1 belive me lol..... nah its broken i can understand what you think though shall be on my way to find a pen and will post pics once ive attemped it. still wondering wether any1 knows of a way to get seal string off your motherboard.
