ASUS have released a router capable of functioning without the management of a PC, allowing (among many other things) the user to continue downloading while the PC is off. News Here

Yes, that is a great idea, i love it! I might actually think about getting one of these.

Me too - thats damn useful - the amount of times I had to leave my PC on overnight...

I leave my comps on 24/7 anyhow but I figure when i take my laptop to my parents or something it would be nice if I was downloading something.

I wonder if this would work for torrent seeding?

It's a good idea, but it's a bit crap if its only 125mb wifi, they could have atleast put upgradeable pre-n on it like netgear, so you can upgrade the firmware to N when it appears (or so Netgear say). The other problem, is again with the network, it's only (as far as I can tell) 10/100, which is alright if one person's accessing the hard drive, but if 4 or more people do it it's going to get slow, should have GigE tbh. Other problem is overheating, but this is something best to be found out rather than guessed at.

Major good point is that it can torrent, which is something which does bring it above the rest :).
