So was just having a random search and Tweak Town was talking about Nvidia's Upcoming Pascal 16nm HBM2 Gpu's and supposedly the release is Q1 next year with upto 32 gig ram so who's interested and excited for this? I know Iam if it's true
What do you all reckon?

If it's true then I'm hoping AMD have something similar up their sleeves :)

I doubt the 32gb ram bit. It'll be HBM1 I suspect.

Their next top tier Titan will probably be around 16GB of HBM2 so it exceeds the last gen TX in the memory department probably just for bragging.

Yep 32GB ain't possible with HBM. I believe 8GB is the max. 32GB is only possible with GDDR5

HBM2 can go way passed 8GB all the way to 32GB+, It's only HBM1 that is limited.

I can see the next top full Titan chip having around 16GB of HBM2 even if it's not really needed it will be great for the e-peeners ^_^

Got any concrete data for 32GB HBM2?;)
Also would be next to no supply for it in addition would probably cost more than a fury x or 980ti

We're also forgetting nVidia almost certainly have a dual GPU card in the works to go against the X2. I'll be interested to see how much they screw up with it this time.

Come on dude you have access to the internet, Only takes 5 seconds to go to google and type in HBM2 ;)

Also more than just SK Hynix are making the memory as Samsung and others now have the ability to produce HBM2.

not a bad source either.

Will replace my 980ti trip ski ( autocorrect) setup without hesitation as soon as the next high end card on <28nm comes out. Even my cherry picked setup doesn't stand a chance against the power those GPUS will have.

Yep, it was in the Nvidia presentation. I don't think consumer parts will have that much though. Probably more like 8 or 12 even, maybe. 32 might be reserved for the professional parts.

In short, heck yeah I'm excited! I'm always excited about GPU releases. I won't jump immediately, you know new tech and all, but soonish. It's the architecture I've been waiting for!

I do hope it'll be a full-length card, and not a whimsy small form-factor, purely a looks thing for me. :)

I think I need a higher resolution screen for this, might be a waste on 1080p. What do you reckon guys?

I imagine the release flagships, the 1070 and 1080 (I highly doubt they'll be called that), will have 8GB of HBM. I predict the 1080 will be as powerful as an overclocked 980ti, with the 1070 being that of a 980ti stock reference. I can't imagine them being that much more powerful. I'm sure they'd overtake the 980ti with drivers, as is usually the case with nVidia. The 980ti will rule the roost for older games that are already well optimised, but the newer cards will be given preferential treatment with newer titles.
