Paid Mods Have Been Removed From Workshop

The people have spoken and Valve have answered, Paid Mods have been removed from the Steam workshop.

Amen to that.

On top of it being a bad idea in my eyes. Considering the payment split being 30%,45%,25% for Valve, Bethesda, Modder respectively, it seems like the small guy got shafted anyway.

Thank god. Skyrim is hands-down my most-played game ever with hundreds of hours on PS3 and about 40 on PC. Paid mods would've probably only brought nothing but trouble. Perhaps Valve should add the option to donate to mod developers. They could get paid in Steam Wallet funds, or receive their money via paypal.

One slight caveat, in the statement from Valve/Bethesda they say that paid mods will still be arriving for other games. Seems like just the Skyrim Workshop paid mods are being removed for now.
