P4 3.4Ghz Extreme Edition overclocking

Currently got the 3.4EE sitting in my P4P800-E Deluxe running nice and proud @ 250FSB, YEY!!!! Many of you may remember my problems with this chip in a previous thread.

Couldn't push it past 240 with my TwinX which really annoyed me but with 1 stick of my OCZ it hits 250FSB and it will go further I recon.

My OCZ 3500 RAM is sat at 3.1v (DDR Booster) 2-4-4-8 5:4 timings @ 250FSB. Proc is @ 4.2Ghz (250FSB). Dazboots currently has my TwinX in his AMD FX rig should be getting that back tomoz.

Havn't been so lucky with the clocking of the TwinX in here so far, don't have enough volts on the board and the TwinX for some reason doesn't like my DDR Booster . Needless to say I will be going for more when this RAM gets back to me.

Cheers

IC7 Max

Hi Boardy

Did you get your IC7 Max M/B ? I've not had much chance to mess with mine been busy with work etc. I got past 4g but not totally stable I think I need a better PSU the XFX 6800 ultra I have is the culprit ? got it running off two separate rails one thing I noticed was graphics corruption past 4g . looks like Phil will be getting a call for one of his deluxe PSU/s I've up the Volts on the Twinx to 2.8 plus the AGP but not the CPU not much point until I get a better PSU. Let me know how you get on with yours.

Hiya mate. I do have it yes but it's being sent off to Thickbrit very soon to be fully modded before it's put into this machine. 4.2Ghz on this machine was a little flakey at times but I think it's the droop on this board being the culprit for that one. Now I have the MAX I may try to do the droop mod on this board over the weekend, but I have a crap soldering iron so could mess up completely.

I'm looking into new RAM and also new PSU for this machine aswell. My Enermax is great but I want one with adjustable rails so I can mess with it and push things harder.

Increase your VCore to get things more stable, mine wont do 4.2Ghz on stock volts, so you may need to up the volts to get anything higher and 4Ghz stable, also RAM takes a beating when OC'd so volts help there aswell, which is y i set mine to 3.2v :D

Cheers

CPU temp

Do have any problems reading your CPU temp using the Abit M/B monitor? I can only read mine via the BIOS even Sandra soft wont see the CPU temp bios says -54
